一目了然的資訊視覺化

讀到Lorcan Dempsey's Weblog的一篇文章Glanceability，由 glance(看一下、一瞥)＋ability而成glanceability這字，意指使用者只需看一眼(螢幕上顯示的)即可獲得/了解所需的資訊，不需花太多認知上的判斷。[1] 文中也提到另一篇文章：Designing Glanceable Peripheral Displays，是對設計這種“一目了然”介面的探討。

Dempsey提到圖書館的網站常無法讓人“一目了然”，就像包裹著無條理的分類、且欠缺指引的資源界面，讀者需花不少的判斷功夫來找出其中包含了哪些資訊。

Dempsey還提到WorldCat的作者識別檔(WorldCat Identities Beta) [2]的一些視覺化設計能讓人一目了然。例如：作者的作品出版之年代顯示圖(publication timeline)及適用(對象)程度圖(audience level)皆是。

雖Identities還處於beta試用期，問題仍多(涉及名稱權威控制)，不過雛型看起來蠻不錯的(如下圖例)。
