{大意)將圖書館使用的控制詞彙(如：LCC, LCSH,LC權威檔,各種索引典…等)在Web上能發揮效用，以助益使用者查尋相關資訊。在往語意網方向邁進時，除RDA與DC社群合作[註2]將書目資料轉譯為RDF架構外；在控制/權威資料(controlled vocabularies/authority information)方面，利用語意網的標準/技術(如：OWL, SKOS)來表示這些控制/權威資料。控制詞彙對語意網是有用的，相對地，語意網技術對控制詞彙也是有益的。
Virtual International Authority File (VIAF,虛擬國際權威檔)的初期測試已完成，它是國際共享的，連結世界主要權威檔供免費取用，它有助減低編目費用、增加網路搜尋的精確率。
